12th Annual Runner’s Edge Tobay Junior Triathlon

Peter Castellana III, Peter Castellana Jr. and the Castellana Foundation, along with Western Beef were proud to sponsor the 12th Annual Runner’s Edge Tobay Junior Triathlon by donating $4000 to the event. The Junior Triathlon is for youth ages 8- 13 and took place on August 27th at Oyster Bay, New York.

Home of the Aged of the Little Sisters of the Poor – Feast of St. Jeanne Jugan

Peter Castellana III, Peter Castellana Jr. and the Castellana Foundation, along with Western Beef were pleased to support  the Home of the Aged of the Little Sisters of the Poor in order to help them celebrate the Feast of St. Jeanne Jugan and bring joy to their elderly poor residents. The feast on the Feast day is solely for their residents and sisters.

Home of the Aged of the Little Sisters of the Poor provides housing and long-term care for the aged poor, those who are at the end of their lives without adequate resources to care for themselves. With a 2 year waiting list, the demand for such care is in great demand.

Dewitt Clinton High School

The Clinton motto has always been “Without Work Nothing is Accomplished”. The student athletes practice with great confidence and pride. The staff is always seeking ways to improve the program and working toward ways to win the city championship.

Nicole Paultre Bells 9th Annual Sean Bell Family Day

Peter Castellana III, Peter Castellana Jr. and the Castellana Foundation, along with Western Beef were proud support Nichole Paultre Bell by making a donation of $400 to the ‘9th annual Sean Bell Family Day’.

The festivities for the day begin with the Sean Bell ‘ALLSTARS’ basketball tournament, followed by a day of fun for the families. Children bounce houses, video games arcade, face painting, balloon clowns, music and other entertainment including dance performances and other exciting activities. There is plenty to eat, along with Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Ices, Cotton Candy and more for the children.

The Nicole Paultre Bell is a non-profit organization focuses on the under served communities, mostly in Jamaica, Queens and Far Rockaway, New York. WIRIF is a youth and justice based organization aiming to provide a better quality of life for those in the community. We use our organization to raise awareness in different communities focusing a lot on social justice. We have a “Know your rights” forum that we do. We also hold community events like “Sean Bell Family Day” in August. The whole idea is to show that tragedy can become triumph. From being a victim to turning it around and becoming a victor. It aims to aid anyone in need and be a helping hand for people going through hardship.

‘Back to School’ Event by Peace Valley Haven

Peace Valley Haven is a community based organization whose mission is to provide transitional housing, emergency shelter and give them the tools to achieve self-sufficiency to Homeless individuals and families. The length of the program is based on an individual basis to include education and supportive services to accomplish their goals of self-sufficiency and transitioning back into the community.

Peter Castellana III, Peter Castellana Jr. and the Castellana Foundation, along with Western Beef were proud to make a donation to their ‘Back to School’ event. In the event, children received backpacks, books and much more, equipping them with the tools for higher education. The program has a great impact on the community parents who could not otherwise provide their children with educational materials.

Heeling Soles Inc. was created by highly self-motivated visionaries, they recognize the urgency and necessity to eradicate poverty.  Heeling Soles are dedicated to helping heal humanity and building a global ComeInUnity of hope, by providing shoes, clothing and support to those in need.

Peter Castellana III, Peter Castellana Jr. and the Castellana Foundation, along with Western Beef were happy to make a donation of $300 to the 3rd Annual “ComeInUnity” Family Fun Day event of Heeling Soles. The event is about family, friends and neighbors coming together to enjoy the day and each other, through communicating, laughter, singing, dancing, games, eating and just having lots of fun. It’s a day we all get to share with each other and demonstrate ways of giving back to the community we love.

School Carnival of P255Q

Peter Castellana III, Peter Castellana Jr. and the Castellana Foundation, along with Western Beef were happy to make a donation to the School Carnival of P255Q that took place at PS151 on August 5th, as a culminating summer activity for the students. During the Carnival, the children and staff make their own games and booths. They also barbeque for the children, staff and parents that attend. P255Q is a District 75 school that educates students with Autism ages 5-14. The school is located in 8 different sites throughout Queens.

Ronald McDonald House of Long Island

Peter Castellana III, Peter Castellana Jr. and the Castellana Foundation, along with Western Beef were happy to support Ronald McDonald House of Long Island by donating $2,500 so they could keep on giving comfort and shelter to families experiencing the pain of having sick child in local hospital facilities. For 30 years the house has been a “home away from home” to over 21,000 families from Long Island and NY Metropolitan area. The home provides the parents and siblings of these children with a temporary haven in a secure and comfortable environment among other families sharing a similar burden.
